Ian was born a long time ago on a far distant planet, the youngest of three brothers.  One brother bought a guitar and formed a band with his bass playing pal and Ians best pal, so Ian announced he'd buy a guitar and join them..... only to be told it was a drummer they needed, so he acquired a £21 fablon covered gigster kit and our drummer was born!

The band was joined by Ians class mate Kenny Craddock, now deceased, who went on to play keyboards with The Baker Gurvitz Army and do session work for John Lennons Plastic Ono Band .  From 15 onwards Ian gigged around th local scene for 5-6 years, working with Brian Johnstone (AC/DC) for a few months, and shrewdly turned down an audition with the John Miles set because, as an apprentice fitter, he wouldn't turn pro without a trade behind him!

He then befell the musicians curse - marriage! and sold his kit and settled down.  Twenty days after splitting with his wife of 12 years he borrowed a kit, got 45 mins practise and auditioned with Laughing Sams dice, and got the job.  He went on to work with a number of local bands before joining Blueshouse in 1994, later to become a 3 piece called Russ Hird band.  Ian  is now enjoying gigging once again with Last Minute, formed in 2007 with Ron on bass, and is also the bands manager.
